MONDAY BLUES (08.01.11)

Back with bullet! The legendary Albert King performing “Blues Power” live and in color!  The song was part of his recorded concerts at the Fillmore Auditorium (San Francisco) in June 1968, concerts which generated three live albums–Live Wire/Blues Power, Wednesday Night in San Francisco, and Thursday Night in San Francisco.

This video is of a 1970 performance at the same music hall Fillmore East.

  1. My very favorite Albert King song! One correction: the video is from Fillmore East. It was part of a PBS special (actually, they might still have been NET then) that also had Van Morrison, Elvin Bishop, the Byrds, and Sha Na Na. I remember watching it on a little B&W TV, late 1970 or early 1971.

  2. Sweet! Thanks for the correction. I tried to track down the source and couldn’t. Now that I know maybe I’ll be more successful at finding a copy.
