Protesting the Border Wall

This wonderful image came my way via some friends in Texas.

It shows the grassrots protest taking place at the construction site of the border wall in El Paso, Texas.  An effort of one man–Justo Rivera, a 63 year-old native of El Paso and a veteran of the U.S. war in Vietnam–has grown into something of a movement.  Everyday, people of conscience occupy the corner of Cesar Chávez Highway (also known as Border Highway) and Yarbrough to remind people of the ludicrousy of spending 7.5 million dollars per mile of a fence that is inhernently inhumane and ineffective.

The next formal event organized by the above coalition is scheduled for Sunday, October 12, at the same location.
