Pete Camejo

Activist Peter Camejo died last week.  He is probably best know as Ralph Nader’s running mate in the 2004 election, but he also mounted several third-party gubernatorial campaigns in California.  A socialist, environmentalist, and all-around crusader for social justice, Camejo was a “second-generation American,” the son of Venezuelan parents who immigrated to New York.  He spent the first few years of his life in his parents’ home country.

Obituaries can be found at the Los Angeles Times, the Sacramento Bee, and the San Francisco Chronicle.
